PA iLottery Bonuses and Promotions

If you expect to find traditional gambling bonuses at the PA lottery, you might be disappointed. Keep in mind that this is a PA government website, so they are not too generous with promotions. However, there is still a traditional welcome bonus at PA iLottery, so you can earn bonus money for your first deposit. Also, you get $5 in Free Play when you join the online lottery PA website. The deposit bonus is a simple one:

  • Join the PA iLottery website and make your first deposit ($10 minimum)
  • Use the “DEP500” code while making the deposit
  • It will be matched by 100% and up to $500
  • The wagering rate is 10x

There is also a constantly active referral bonus and daily promotions. Only the referral promo requires using a PA lottery bonus code.

The referral bonus lets you send an email to a friend. This message contains a special link: if your friend clicks that link, joins PA online lottery, and makes a $10 deposit within 30 days, you get $50 bonus money. Also, if your friend uses the “FRIEND” code while making a deposit, they get a $20 bonus money too. Both bonuses are subject to 5x wagering.

The daily promotions section contains several lottery bonus offers that constantly change. Each can be claimed by playing a specific game, making a deposit, and/or wagering a certain amount of money.  For example:

  • Spicy Sunday: You can get $2 cashback for every $20 wagered on the “Spicy Hot 7” game
  • Money Monday: If you deposit $10 and place a $10 wager on 3asy Money, you will win a $10 bonus money
  • Lucky Tuesday: Same as the “Spicy Sunday” bonus, only the game is different (Streaks of Luck)
  • Monster Wins: If you wager $50 on the “Monster Wins” game, you will get $5 back. This bonus is also available for the game “Mine Blowing Jackpot”

PA Lottery Bonus Code for March 2024

PA iLottery is not an online casino or sportsbook; it's just the official website of the PA lottery and other casual games of chance. For this reason, it is not like other Pennsylvania gambling sites in terms of bonuses and promo codes – there are not plenty of them. At the time of this review, only the welcome bonus (and the referral bonus) requires using a PA lottery bonus code.

Other Online Pa Lottery Bonuses

In terms of promotions, there is only a couple of prize draws and “bet XXX get a free scratch card” bonuses at PA online lottery. We are not listing them here: they are subject to a limited time and will have already expired by the time you read this review. But you can expect to see such bonuses (prize draws & free tickets in exchange for wagers) regularly at the PA lottery. A PA lottery bonus code is not needed for any of them.

Apart from these, there is a loyalty program called “VIP Players Club”. There are no special conditions: joining is as simple as opting in, and you don't need to join this club to play online lottery PA: becoming a member is just an option. However, we recommend joining this club because you earn many perks in return. For example:

  • You can earn a “second chance” bonus for scratch cards, fast play, and draw games you lose. This bonus gives you one more chance to win
  • You earn giveaways and coupons that you can use in retail stores in Pennsylvania
  • You can instantly learn the winning numbers in each lottery game via SMS and email

At addresses in the PA legal casinos list, loyalty programs offer exclusive bonuses and have a level system, but this is not the case for PA iLottery. Although it provides useful features and rewards, the PA lottery VIP players club does not include most of the classic online gambling rewards. It just gives you access to real-life rewards and many quality-of-life features.

PA Lottery App Review

You can download a PAlottery app to access all the online lottery games and other services on the PA iLottery website. You get two apps, and both have the same design & features. While we cannot say that they are among the best PA casino apps (they are pretty old and have not been updated for a long time), you can still get a user-friendly experience and access to lots of PA online lottery features, such as:

  • Access to all lottery games and other games of chance on the online lottery PA website
  • Ticket Checker: You can scan the barcode of any lottery ticket to see if you won
  • Winning Numbers: All winning numbers in all available games can be checked from the PAlottery app
  • Retailer Map: You can see the nearest Pennsylvania lottery retailers

The VIP Players Club and all its perks are also accessible from the PAlottery app. So, for example, you can get coupon codes with push notifications.

Download options for the PA Lottery app on Android and iOS devices

  • Android app: The PA lottery app for Android can be downloaded from the Play Store. You need Android 4 at least, and the developer is Scientific Games International.
  • iOS app: The mobile lottery app for iOS devices can be downloaded from the App Store. Once again, it is developed by Scientific Games International.
  • SMS download: The PAlottery app for both platforms can be downloaded by SMS too. Send your phone number (as text) to 66835. You will get an SMS with download instructions.

PA iLottery Sign Up Process

You can create an account at PA iLottery website easily, and the overall process is not different than in other casinos and sports betting sites in PA

  1. Click the “join” button at the top right corner of the PA online lottery website.
  2. The registration form consists of three pages. On the first page, you need to enter your email address and pick a password.
  3. On the second page, you must enter your name, date of birth, address, and phone number.
  4. On the last page, you need to give the last four digits of your SSN and pick security questions & answers. Please note that if you have a PA lottery bonus code, you can use it at this stage.

According to the terms and conditions, you don’t need to live in Pennsylvania to create an account at PA iLottery. Once again, this is not one of the regular Pennsylvania gambling sites: its games (and the lottery itself) can be played from other states too. However, you need to be at least 18 years old to play in the Pennsylvania lottery, and your SSN is required to verify that.

PA Lottery Games Variety

PA iLottery is not one of the online casinos in this state, so its game collection does not contain the “usual” options such as slots, poker, roulette, blackjack, or live dealer games. None of them are available on the online lottery PA website. For real money gambling, you only get scratch cards, draw games, fast play games, and sports games. Let’s take a look at them all one by one.

Instant win popular games (Scratch-Offs)

Instant win games are scratch cards, and their digital versions are available on PA iLottery website. They are simple games, but the top payouts can be as high as 5 million dollars – much better than any other address you can find on the PA legal casinos list. The rules are also simple: you purchase a ticket. There are six numbers/symbols on top, and each ticket contains 15 randomly selected numbers/symbols too.

You scratch the top first and try to match the revealed symbols with the ones at the bottom. The payout is determined according to how many numbers or symbols are matched. They are called instant lottery games, too, because scratching a ticket only takes a couple of seconds. Each and every ticket has a “scratch for fun” feature: you can scratch one for free and find out how the game works.

Draw Games

Draw games are based on “draws”, as the name implies. Simply put, players purchase a ticket, pick random numbers/symbols, and wait for the draw to happen. If your picks match the draw results, you qualify for a payout. This is the main game category of the PA iLottery website and includes lots of options, such as:

  • Mega Millions
  • Power Ball
  • Match 6 Lotto
  • Pick 2 – 3 – 4 – 5
  • Millionaire Raffle
  • Treasure Hunt
  • Cash 5 (Quick Cash)
  • Cash 4 Life

Each ticket costs a different amount. For example, you can purchase a Mega Millions ticket only for $2. Treasure Hunt tickets, on the other hand, cost $20. Each game asks you to pick different numbers (for example, you select five numbers from seventy in Mega Millions), and each one pays a different amount. Power Ball and Mega Millions are the highest-paying draw games. At the time of this review, the first was paying $145,000,000, and the second was paying $810,000,000, for example.

Fast Play games selection

Fast play games are very similar to scratch cards, but you don’t need to “scratch”: all results can be seen instantly. These are digital tickets printed on the screen instantly when you purchase them. On the top of the ticket, you can see the winning numbers or symbols. On the bottom, you can see your randomly created numbers and symbols. If any of your numbers/symbols match the winning ones, you qualify for a prize.  Active games change constantly; they all last for a specific period only (i.e., until someone wins all the prizes or for a week). Some of the tickets have a progressive prize, and we have seen games with top payouts as big as 20.000 USD. Your overall chance of winning these games is 1 in 4.30.

Keno

Keno is a classic game that can be played on the Pennsylvania iLottery website. The top payout can be as high as $100,000 (or sometimes even more). There is keno drawing every 4 minutes, and the whole process is completely automatic & digital. In each drawing, 20 numbers are drawn, and you can play up to 10 numbers beforehand. The more numbers match the results, the bigger you win.

Xpress Sports

While PA iLottery is not a sportsbook, there is a “virtual games” section you can use to place virtual bets. They are digital sports games, and two options are available: horse racing (Derby Cash) and car racing. Every four minutes, a race is completed automatically, and you can place a bet for the results. This is actually a pretty realistic experience and can compete with other sports betting sites in PA.

Is PA Online Lottery Legal?

Yes, PA iLottery is entirely legal. In fact, the Pennsylvania lottery was one of the first forms of gambling to become legal in the state. It was created by the state of Pennsylvania in August 1971. In May 2018, the Pennsylvania lottery launched its official website (which is the subject of this article) and started to offer lotteries & games online too. Over the years, different games and services (i.e., fast play, Xpress sports, etc.) became available on the PA iLottery site.

Unlike other Pennsylvania gambling sites (and sports betting sites in PA), this website is not licensed and/or audited by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board[1]. This is because it is owned, operated, and regulated directly by the state (Commonwealth of Pennsylvania) itself. Also, there is no such thing as “PA lottery online sites”: PA iLottery site is the only official operator for every lottery in the state.

Deposit and Withdrawal Options

You can use electronic checks, credit cards, debit cards, electronic wallets, prepaid cards, retail stores, and voucher codes to make a deposit and withdrawal at the Pennsylvania lottery website. The only supported currency is the USD. Payments can be made via the PAlottery app too.

Deposit Methods

  • ACH e-Check
  • VISA, MasterCard, Discover
  • PayPal
  • PayNearMe
  • Play+
  • WebCash

The minimum deposit limit for all these methods is $10. ACH, credit cards, PayPal, and PayNearMe, have no maximum deposit limits. For other methods, there is a maximum limit between $1,000 and $25,000. All deposits are instant and free of charge at the Pennsylvania lottery website.

Withdrawal Methods

  • ACH e-Check
  • PayPal
  • Play+

The minimum withdrawal limit is also set at $10. PayPal withdrawals have a maximum limit of $10,000. Play+ withdrawals, on the other hand, are subject to a $25,000 limit. All other methods have no maximum withdrawal limit. Withdrawals are instant on the Pennsylvania lottery website; however, each request has 3 – 5 business days processing time.

PA iLottery Customer Support

PA online lottery offers multiple ways to contact support. Since it is a government-run website, you even get a toll-free phone number. There is no difference between regular and VIP players in terms of support: all players get access to the same methods at the same speeds.

  • Phone Support: Call 1-833-530-PLAY (7529)
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Live Chat: Available on PA iLottery website, 24/7
  • FAQ: Visit Lottery PA Site for a detailed FAQ section.

Note that you can also use the social media accounts of PA iLottery to get support: the website has accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube, and Flickr. Lastly, you can visit the PA lottery offices all over the state: there are offices in Wilkes-Barre, Harrisburg, Clearfield, Pittsburgh, Erie, and Lehigh Valley.

Pennsylvania Online Lottery Laws

The iLottery laws of Pennsylvania are based on the “State Lottery Law,” which came into effect in August 1971. This law made Pennsylvania lottery legal and has undergone many changes in October 2017 with the “Omnibus Gaming Bill.” This bill made online gambling essentially legal within the state, and this included iLottery services too. In other words, the already legal PA lottery became a service that can be offered online with this bill. Currently, Omnibus Gaming Bill Act 42 4 Pa.C.S. § 503(a) is the only law covering iLottery services in the state. The PA iLottery website has been operating under this law since May 2018.

History of the Pennsylvania Lottery

The Pennsylvania Lottery was first established in August 1971, and its first tickets were sold in March 1972. It was created by the Pennsylvania General Assembly and is now administered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In the '70s, the Pennsylvania lottery was paying up to $1 million. Over time, different games were added to the lottery, and each began to pay different amounts. Let's show it as a list:

  • Pick 3: Launched in March 1977 with a 500:1 payout
  • Pick 4: Started in November 1980. The highest payout is 5.000:1
  • Treasure Hunt: Available since May 2007. It has a jackpot prize with a minimum payout of $10,000
  • Keno: Pennsylvania lottery started to offer keno games in May 2018.
  • Xpress Sports: The virtual sports games of PA iLottery started in 2018 summer.

In addition to all this, multi-state games were also included in the Pennsylvania lottery over time. These games include Mega Millions, Cash 4 Life, and Powerball. Multi-state games pay more than any other PA iLottery option, and top payouts can reach hundreds of millions of dollars.

How old do I need to be to play at PA iLottery?

You must be at least 21 years old to benefit from gambling services in Pennsylvania. However, iLottery is not considered a gambling service in the traditional sense, so you just need to be 18 years old. The online lottery PA site verifies your age using your SSN at the registration stage.
